چکیده
The paper discusses an instrumented tapping test method using a CNC machine tool to compare the lubricity of MWFs by cutting threads in Ti-6Al-4V alloy at low speed. uses spiral flute tap size typical industrial practice. A soft synchronous holder and spindle mounted dynamometer were incorporated on measure torque thrust force. was demonstrated three groups that commercially available classified ASTM E2523-13:2018. developed stable results free chip clogging flutes which could otherwise mask their comparative lubricity. fully synthetic (FS) group displayed best within this FS from renewables (FS-bio) overall. shown be effective mitigating biasing effects performance due generous chamfer angle tolerance practical economical implement. significance is discussed enabling understanding friction holder. life cycle assessment each MWF found total Greenhouse Gas emitted 17% hydrocarbon whilst FS-bio just 7%.
